Shopping in Singapore
Start at ION Orchard for the broadest mix of fashion, beauty, luxury and Singapore labels in this guide, then choose Marina Bay Sands for concentrated designer shopping, VivoCity for a large mall day, or IMM and Changi City Point for outlets. Jewel works best around a flight.

Singapore has enough branches of major brands that choosing stores one by one can send you to several unrelated malls. Plan the shopping day around an area first, then use branch formats and department differences to choose the right location.
Orchard Road is the clearest starting point for a first visit. Begin at ION Orchard, which brings together mainstream fashion, sportswear, beauty, luxury and Singapore labels in one mall. From there, decide whether the rest of the day should stay on Orchard Road or move to a more specialist destination.
Choose an area by shopping mission
| Shopping mission | Start here | Why it fits |
|---|---|---|
| Broad fashion, beauty and mixed-brand shopping | ION Orchard and Orchard Road | The widest category and brand mix in this guide, with several useful malls serving different price levels and shopping missions. |
| Concentrated luxury and designer shopping | The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands | Luxury boutiques are concentrated in one mall, including general fashion, children's, jewellery, watch and beauty formats. |
| A large mainstream mall day | VivoCity | The widest single-mall selection in this guide, with fashion, sportswear, beauty, technology, a department store and several brands operating more than one format. |
| Outlets plus mainstream malls in the west | IMM, JEM and Westgate | IMM provides the outlet mission, while JEM and Westgate add current mainstream, beauty, technology and lifestyle stores. |
| A dedicated eastern outlet trip | Changi City Point | A compact group of sportswear, fashion and accessory outlets, separate from airport shopping. |
| Shopping before departure or after arrival | Jewel Changi Airport | A public landside mall with fashion, sportswear, technology, toys and Singapore-label stores. |
| Central fashion, gifts, sportswear and technology | Raffles City, Suntec City and Funan | Three different malls in the City Hall area, each with a distinct mix rather than a duplicated store list. |
| A 24-hour department store and value-led mall shopping | Mustafa Centre and City Square Mall | Mustafa Centre covers a broad department-store range around the clock, while City Square Mall adds fashion, sportswear, technology and several sale or outlet formats. |
| Mainstream and sportswear shopping around Bugis | Bugis Junction and Bugis+ | Two shopping destinations in the same Bugis cluster, with strong sportswear, footwear, fashion, accessories, beauty and technology. |
Orchard Road: the first stop for breadth
Start at ION Orchard because it gives a first-time visitor the easiest introduction to Singapore's main shopping missions. Its stores include mainstream and premium fashion, sportswear, beauty, technology and luxury, as well as Singapore labels such as Love, Bonito, Beyond The Vines, CHARLES & KEITH, PEDRO and RISIS.
Do not treat the whole of Orchard Road as one interchangeable shopping centre. The malls have different strengths:
- ION Orchard is the most useful all-category starting point. It includes the Love, Bonito and RISIS flagships, Beyond The Vines Design Post, major international brands and category-specific luxury boutiques.
- Takashimaya Shopping Centre and Ngee Ann City are stronger for department-store shopping and category-specific luxury stores. Louis Vuitton has separate women's and men's boutiques, while Chanel separates fashion from watches and fine jewellery.
- 313@Somerset works well for mainstream fashion, sportswear and Singapore labels in one mall. Zara, Mango, Cotton On, Love, Bonito, CHARLES & KEITH and PEDRO are among the useful combinations.
- Plaza Singapura adds the MUJI global flagship with Cafe&Meal MUJI, plus toys, technology, beauty and sportswear.
- Orchard Central has the Uniqlo flagship, which lists maternity and Uniqlo Flower, and Singapore's only 24-hour DON DON DONKI branch.
- TANGS at Tang Plaza is the Orchard Road department-store option and also contains concessions, beauty counters and treatment rooms that operate separately from standard boutiques.
Orchard Road offers the greatest breadth, but that does not mean every branch there is the largest or carries every department. Use the individual brand guide when a format or missing category matters.
Marina Bay Sands: luxury concentrated in one mall
The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands is the clearest choice when luxury is the main reason for the shopping trip. Unlike Orchard Road, where designer stores are spread across several malls, Marina Bay Sands places a large group in one property.
The useful distinctions are often category-specific. Gucci and Dior have separate children's boutiques. Chanel separates fashion from fragrance and beauty. Louis Vuitton combines its Island Maison fashion boutique with a separate chocolate and gift boutique. TWG Tea has two different locations, one with a salon and takeaway service and another focused on boutique and takeaway shopping.
This is not the place to plan an outlet mission. Choose it for designer fashion, beauty, watches, jewellery, gifts and a concentrated luxury mall visit.
City Hall: choose between Raffles City, Suntec and Funan
The City Hall shopping area is useful when you want a central alternative to Orchard Road without relying on one mall.
Raffles City combines fashion, beauty, sportswear and gifts. Its useful store formats include MUJI with Cafe&Meal MUJI, a TWG Tea salon and boutique, and several beauty stores.
Suntec City has a broader sportswear and mainstream mix, plus technology and toys. The Uniqlo branch is a large store and lists Uniqlo Flower. H&M, Cotton On, Decathlon, LEGO, New Balance and Foot Locker make it useful when you want sportswear alongside adult and children's clothing.
Funan is the better fit when local labels and technology matter. Love, Bonito and Beyond The Vines are in the same mall, alongside Challenger, JD Sports, POP MART and Benjamin Barker. The Asian Civilisations Museum and Peranakan Museum also have Supermama museum stores that can be entered without a museum ticket.
These properties should be planned as separate stops. Precise walking sequences should be added only after route checks are complete.
VivoCity: the broadest single-mall alternative
Choose VivoCity when you want a large mall day without moving between several Orchard Road properties. It has the widest single-mall selection in this guide, covering mainstream fashion, sportswear, beauty, accessories, technology and luxury, as well as TANGS.
VivoCity is particularly useful when brands operate more than one format. Nike has a standard store and a separate Kicks Lounge. Adidas has a standard store and an Originals store. These are separate branches and should not be merged or treated as identical.
This is a mainstream mall mission, not an outlet trip. If brand-classified outlet and factory-store formats are the priority, use IMM or Changi City Point instead.
Outlet shopping: IMM and Changi City Point serve different trips
IMM is the main outlet component of the Jurong East cluster. Retailer-labeled outlet or factory formats include Nike, Adidas, Puma, New Balance, Coach, Benjamin Barker, G2000, PEDRO, Cotton On, CHARLES & KEITH and Bath & Body Works. Coach operates two separate outlet stores on different levels.
JEM and Westgate should be treated as mainstream companions, not extensions of the outlet stores. JEM has fashion, beauty, technology, sportswear and Singapore labels. Westgate adds a smaller group of beauty, toys, lifestyle and sports-equipment stores.
Changi City Point is a separate outlet trip in the east. Its outlet stores include Nike Factory Store, Adidas, PUMA, New Balance, Coach, Benjamin Barker and G2000. Do not describe it as airport shopping simply because Changi appears in the name.
Outlet labels identify the retailer's format. They do not guarantee a particular discount, product or size on the day of the visit.
Jewel Changi Airport: landside shopping around a flight
Jewel is the airport-shopping option for visitors who do not want to enter a departure-transit area. The stores in this guide are in the public landside mall.
Its mix includes Apple, Zara, Uniqlo, Muji, Nike, Adidas, New Balance, Foot Locker, POP MART and several Singapore labels. CHARLES & KEITH operates a flagship there, while The Paper Bunny and Beyond The Vines have their public stores elsewhere in the city.
Use Jewel when it fits an arrival or departure day. Do not make a separate airport trip only because a brand has a branch there when the same shopping mission is available in the city.
Little India: Mustafa Centre and City Square Mall are different choices
Mustafa Centre is Singapore's round-the-clock department-store option. It covers supermarket, pharmacy, cosmetics, footwear, clothing, electronics and home appliances. It is useful when broad practical shopping or late hours matter more than a designer-mall setting.
City Square Mall serves a different mission. Its current mix includes DON DON DONKI, a Decathlon Experience Store, Cotton On Mega, Uniqlo, Challenger, Adidas and PUMA outlets, plus a Skechers Sale store and CHARLES & KEITH outlet.
Treat these as two separate decisions within the same wider area rather than one combined store list.
Singapore labels worth planning around
Several Singapore labels are easy to combine with the main shopping areas:
- Love, Bonito has its flagship at ION Orchard. Its Funan branch is in the same mall as Beyond The Vines, while 313@Somerset places it with mainstream fashion and accessories.
- Beyond The Vines operates different named formats. New Bahru has the Design House, Funan and Takashimaya have Design Stores, and ION Orchard and Marina Bay Sands have Design Posts. The format names do not establish which branch carries the largest range.
- CHARLES & KEITH has a flagship at Jewel and outlets at IMM and City Square Mall.
- PEDRO has an outlet at IMM and standard stores in the main central malls.
- The Paper Bunny has an Everyday Store at Takashimaya and a Brand store at VivoCity. The retailer notes that physical-store assortments can differ from its online range.
- Supermama's Henderson flagship is closed Sunday. Its Asian Civilisations Museum and Peranakan Museum stores can be entered without a museum ticket.
- RISIS separates its ION Orchard flagship from the RISIS Atelier at Wisma Atria.
- IN GOOD COMPANY's Joo Chiat standalone store lists men's clothing and objects in addition to the women's clothing and accessories available at its TANGS concession.
Choose these stores by format and area. Do not assume that a flagship, outlet, atelier or design-store label automatically guarantees a larger range or lower price.
How to structure the shopping trip
With one shopping day, give most of the time to Orchard Road and add only one second area. Choose Marina Bay Sands for luxury, City Hall for a central multi-mall alternative, or VivoCity for another large mainstream mall.
With two shopping days, use the first for Orchard Road. Use the second for one clear mission: Marina Bay Sands, VivoCity, the Jurong East and IMM cluster, or an eastern outlet trip to Changi City Point. Put Jewel on an arrival or departure day when possible.
Avoid combining outlets, airport shopping and several central districts merely to collect more branch names. The useful differences are store format, department coverage and the stores that can be combined in the same mall.
What this guide deliberately keeps separate
- Jewel is a public airport mall. Changi City Point is an outlet destination outside the airport terminals.
- IMM is outlet-led. JEM and Westgate are mainstream malls in the same wider Jurong East cluster.
- VivoCity and HarbourFront Centre are different properties. Almost every HarbourFront-area store in this guide is inside VivoCity.
- Marina Bay Sands concentrates luxury stores in one mall. Orchard Road offers broader shopping across several malls.
- Airside airport stores are excluded because they require departure or transit access.
Use the brand pages for exact branches, departments, formats, addresses, recurring hours and official retailer links.
