Primark first entered Spain in May 2006 with the opening of its store at the Plenilunio Shopping Center in Madrid. Since then, the brand has expanded significantly in the region, now operating twelve stores across the Comunidad de Madrid, including six within Madrid city itself. A notable recent addition is the Salamanca district location on Calle del Conde de Peñalver, which opened in May 2024.
Its most popular branch in Madrid is the flagship store on Gran Vía (Spain’s largest Primark).
Shopping Tips for Primark Madrid
- Go early to avoid crowds:
- Best times: Weekday mornings (especially Tuesday-Thursday right after opening).
- Worst times: Weekends and evenings (after 17:00), especially at the Gran Vía flagship, which is a tourist magnet.
- Grab a shopping basket/trolley near the entrance. It’s easy to pick up more than you expected 🙂
- Know the store layout in advance to save time.
